Sigma has recently announced many Sigma Art lenses for the Sony FE mount. Well many are expecting new lenses - Sadly that is not so. Sigma is simply sticking a Canon to Sony adapter on existing lenses and calling these FE mount lenses. Customers already can do this Today - So Sigma's announcement is rather bogus that they are releasing New Sony FE mount lenses - There is potentially always some compromises when using an adapter especially when there are two different manufacturers as they do not want to give all their secrets away.
So this is a very misleading announcement from Sigma and we think misleading.

As both Panasonic and Olympus offer fantastic In-Body Image Stabilization the Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 HSM Art Lens coupled with Metabones Canon EF lens to Micro Four Thirds Camera T CINE Speed Booster Ultra 0.71x offers many advantages. We are pointing out the SIgma 18-35mm F1.8 as it is very sharp and fast. The Metabones Speed Booster for Canon EF will of course work for all Canon EF lenses that you might own. Yes the MetaBones adapter is costly and there are other adapters even with Electronics but MetaBones Increases Maximum Aperture by 1-1/3 Stops and Angle of View by 0.64x.
Add a commentSigma has announced the 16mm for Micro Four Thirds system lens - which makes it a 32mm equivalent to 35mm FF -
